- Our private clients based between Gerrards Cross and Slough, Bucks are seeking a dog friendly, organised, experienced and friendly Housekeeper.
The focus of the role is general housekeeping to a high standard in their beautiful 6 bedroom property set in stunning grounds plus occasional care of their dogs during the weekend when the couple are abroad in their Swiss residence (this is not often & time off in lieu given at a mutually agreeable time/date.)
The couple have grown children and grandchildren who visit and the property is mainly informal. They do host more formal dinner evenings on occasion.
Main Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Taking care of the household. All cleaning duties to include bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas; as well as unused rooms on a regular basis. Cleaning inside windows on the ground floor, mopping floors, sweeping porches and cleaning skirting boards. Freshening rooms. Organising cupboards etc.
- Maintaining good hygiene practices throughout the house and especially in the kitchen. Awareness of stock control and checking foods for sell by dates.
- Laundry, ironing and changing bedsheets.
- Cooking (healthy, family meals normally one evening main meal a day)
- Food shopping and running errands.
- Feeding, grooming and walking 2 tame German shepherd dogs around the grounds.
- Administration - dealing with household maintenance issues and following up on any problems. Responsibility for scheduling maintenance appointments for services including boilers, heaters, gutters, alarms etc.
- Petty cash records.
- Watering indoor plants.
Skills:
- High calibre, pro-active with the ability to undertake tasks without supervision. Energetic and fit
- Driver with a clean driving license (automatic car provided) - not a must
- Good standard of written English
- Non smoker
- Flexibility with working hours when for example tradespeople arrive early and comfortable with rolling over hours to a mutually agreeable time and taking time off in lieu. Taking lunch breaks at mutually agreeable times.
- Willing to dog sit and stay on the premises at the weekends when the employer is travelling or away. Days off in lieu for weekend days worked.
- Must be able to provide excellent verifiable written and verbal references.
Working Days/Hours:Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 6.30pm with flexibility around the household priorities. Occasional weekend work with time off in lieu at a mutually agreeable time/date (several times a year)
Accommodation:
Newly built self-contained one-bedroom annex with full kitchen and living/TV area. Fully furnished with own entrance. All utility bills included. Own indoor cat or well behaved, small dog on a lead outdoors at all times allowed.
Salary:Up to £45k gross depending on skills and experience
