- On behalf of our private clients, we are looking for a Live-in Mandarin/Chinese Governess to look after their 8 year old child in Regents Park.
The ideal Governess will be warm, kind, empathetic, experienced, good at communicating and passionate about child development.
This role involves travelling with the family.
Duties:
Ensuring that the child complete their daily homework or school assignments.
Planning a routine that allows for fun and education activities
Ensuring that the child has proper manners, social skills and etiquette.
Communication with the school, parents, and other teachers about the child’s educational progress
Helping prepare child for exams and assessments.
Teaching Mandarin Chinese
Responsible for summer camp planning and research local activities during family trip globally
Monitoring child health and growth
Ordering/Buying school supplies as well as other varies daily routine tasks
Requirements:
Proficient in Mandarin Chinese including listening, speaking, reading and writing
Bachelor/ master’s degree in educational majors or linguistics related majors
At least 5 years’ experience of working as a governess/private tutor/teacher
Able to work during weekends and national holidays
Able to travel frequently even with last minute notice
Detailed orientated, responsible, patient, open-minded and flexible
Preferred qualifications:
Worked as mandarin or English teacher in primary schools in mainland China/HK
Experience with UHNW family
Experience working in schools in the UK
Schedule:Rota schedule-2 weeks on 2 weeks off or 3 weeks on 3 weeks off during long-distance travel
Start date:as soon as possible
Rota schedule: 5 days per week on the first week and 2 days per week on the following week
Salary:from £60K gross per year
Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 2 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
