Description

We are seeking a professional, qualified, and compassionate Care Assistant to join a private family’s team to provide dedicated care for a 28-year-old female patient. This is a permanent live-in role, working on a 2-weeks-on, 2-weeks-off rotation across 3 locations – Monaco and Girona, Spain. The family has a property in Dubai and might travel in the Middle East in winter 2026 or later.

Schedule: The position is permanent, live-in and full-time, on 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off on rotation.

You will be the primary caregiver during your on-duty weeks, sharing a room with the patient to ensure overnight support and continuity of care. This position requires clinical knowledge, patience, and a proactive approach to supporting a young adult with complex needs.

Key Duties

  • Provide full, 24-hour care during on-duty weeks.

  • Assist with all aspects of personal care, mobility, feeding, medication administration, and therapy support.

  • Work collaboratively with the patient’s wider medical and family team.

  • Create a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment, respecting the patient’s dignity and preferences.

  • Monitor and report on the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.

  • Accompany the patient as required between residences in Monaco and Girona.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience working with patients with learning disabilities, autism, and cerebral palsy.

  • Professional care qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent).

  • Fluent English (spoken and written) – clear communication with the patient, family, and medical team is essential.

  • Checkable references from previous relevant roles.

  • Ability to share a bedroom with the patient during on-duty periods.

  • Physically fit and capable of meeting the manual handling needs of a patient with cerebral palsy.

  • EU right to work (or ability to obtain – preference given to candidates already eligible to work in France/Spain/Monaco).

Start Date: ASAP

Salary – approximately £50,000 gross per annum (negotiable based on experience and qualifications).

Permanent contract with guaranteed on/off rota – ideal for work-life balance.

Live-in accommodation provided during on-duty weeks (room shared with patient as noted).

Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 3 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
