On behalf of our private client, we are seeking a warm, proactive and experienced Nanny or Manny to join a well-run household team in Roehampton.
The family has two children aged 8 and 10 y.o. Both are bright and sociable; Older child has been diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia, and the family are looking for someone with experience and understanding in supporting children with similar needs. The younger child has a love of creative activities, cooking, and swimming.
This is a rewarding role for someone who genuinely loves working with children and brings a calm, firm but fair approach — particularly important given the ages and individual needs of the children. You will be well-supported as part of a friendly household team and will become a valued and trusted presence in the family’s daily life. Ideal Nanny/Manny must be flexible as family would require travel with them. Being a driver is a must for this role.
Working days: Monday to Friday; occasional weekend cover required (agreed in advance)
Hours: 2pm – 8pm
Duties but not limited to:
Childcare:
- Collecting children from school via the family vehicle and accompanying them safely to afterschool activities
- Supporting homework, reading and learning — with patience, creativity and a structured approach, particularly in relation to the boy’s ADHD and dyslexia
- Planning and organising activities and playdates, both at home and out and about
- Preparing and serving children’s meals and snacks
- Overseeing bath and bedtime routines
- Keeping parents well informed of the children’s day, wellbeing and any relevant updates
Household Support:
- Keeping children’s bedrooms and play areas tidy and well organised
- Assisting with the children’s laundry and wardrobe management
- Helping to pack the children’s clothing and belongings ahead of family trips
- Flagging any supply needs relating to the children (snacks, school materials, toiletries)
Travel:
- Joining the family on holidays on a rota basis during the summer and other school holiday periods - destinations include Sweden, the Mediterranean and beyond
Desirable requirements:
- Paediatric first aid qualification (or willingness to obtain — the family will provide support)
- An interest in education and child development
- Knowledge of Swedish or another European language
Salary: £38–55k gross (depending on experience)
To start: ASAP (interviews and trials from next week)
Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay.
