Live-In Domestic Couple in Hampshire

The role

A private client in Hampshire is seeking an experienced, trustworthy, and proactive Domestic Couple to manage the smooth running, care, and security of their property.

The principal is typically away during the week and returns on Fridays for the weekend, departing again on Mondays. The successful couple will take pride in maintaining both the house and grounds to an exceptional standard at all times.

This role requires candidates who are looking for a long-term position and can demonstrate previous experience working together within a private household or in similar roles.

Working Schedule

• 5 days per week


• Required to work weekends and bank holidays


• Two consecutive days off during the week (Tuesday–Thursday, depending on the principal’s schedule)


• If not remaining at the property on days off, prior notice must be given so alternative cover can be arranged

Key Responsibilities

• Full housekeeping and presentation of the home to a high standard


• Cooking for the principal and occasional guests


• General property maintenance, including DIY and upkeep


• Gardening, including care of the vegetable garden


• Swimming pool maintenance


• Guttering and external maintenance


• Overseeing contractors and liaising with estate staff


• Driving duties and running errands


• Care of one large dog (Great Dane) when the principal is in residence


• Ensuring the property remains secure at all times

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience as a Domestic Couple or within a private household


• Strong housekeeping, maintenance, and organisational skills


• Confident drivers with full, clean driving licences (ideally both candidates)


• Practical skills in gardening and property maintenance


• Discreet, reliable, and proactive with a positive attitude


• Comfortable with large dogs

Accommodation:

Private, self-contained flat attached to the main house, including:

• Private entrance


• Bedroom


• Bathroom


• Sitting room


• Kitchen

Salary: £65,000 gross per annum (combined)

Start Date: ASAP
