Role:
Our private clients are seeking a highly experienced and proactive live-out housekeeper for their Grade II* listed residence in Stamford, Lincolnshire, home to a couple and a pet dog.
Working days & hours:
Approximately 30–40 hours per week across Monday – Friday, with flexibility on working schedule and timings. As this is a new role, the clients are happy to work collaboratively with the successful candidate to determine the most suitable weekly structure and hours required for the property.
The property comprises a main house with a reception room, office and guest accommodation, alongside a self-contained 2 bed annex. The home features extensive natural stone, delicate windows, marble and antique finishes, and the clients are particularly keen to find someone knowledgeable about appropriate products and methods, with a preference for avoiding harsh chemicals where possible.
This is a newly created role, and the principals are looking for someone experienced enough to take ownership of the housekeeping and advise on the level of hours/support required to maintain the property correctly long term.
Duties:
o Full housekeeping and cleaning to exceptionally high standards
o Specialist care of natural stone, marble, delicate windows and fine materials
o Laundry and ironing, including bed linen changes
o Maintaining organisation and overall presentation of the property
o Managing cleaning schedules across the main house and annex
o Monitoring and replenishing household supplies
o Occasional deep cleaning tasks
o Light household errands as required
o Monitoring household systems and reporting anything requiring attention
o General proactive oversight of the home and upkeep
The ideal candidate:
Highly experienced within private households and confident working independently without supervision or training. Candidates should have excellent attention to detail, strong initiative, and specialist cleaning knowledge relating to older buildings, delicate finishes and high-end materials. Being dog friendly is a must.
The successful candidate will be discreet, reliable, organised and genuinely invested in helping the principals maintain and care for their home long term.
Start date: ASAP
Salary: £18 per hour (£28,000 – £37,500 per annum depending on agreed weekly hours)
Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 5 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
