Live-in Domestic Couple in Buckinghamshire

Our private clients are seeking an experienced Live-in Domestic Couple to take full responsibility for the day-to-day upkeep and presentation of their newly renovated second residence in Gerrards Cross. The property is an impressive 8-bedroom home set within several acres of grounds, including a small lake. This is a newly created position and presents an exciting opportunity for a capable and proactive couple to establish systems, routines and standards within the household from the outset. The principals use the property primarily during UK school holiday periods and may occasionally bring additional staff with them when in residence. Outside of these periods, the successful couple will be responsible for ensuring the property remains fully maintained, organised and ready for the family's arrival at all times.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm or 9:00am – 5:00pm. When the principals are in residence, flexibility will be required and longer hours may be necessary. Time off in lieu will be provided during quieter periods.

Role 1 – Housekeeper

• Full housekeeping and cleaning of the residence to an exceptional standard


• Laundry and ironing


• Managing household supplies, groceries and cleaning products


• Household administration including utilities, post, deliveries and general organisation


• Ensuring the property is always guest-ready and impeccably presented


• Assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the household


• Petty cash handling


• Communicating with London office


• Sound computer skills, including email and Excel


• Attending to Principals' and family requests

Role 2 – Houseman / Handyman / Property Maintenance

• Driving duties as required


• General property maintenance and preventative upkeep


• Identifying and reporting maintenance issues to London office and maintenance contractors


• Liaising with and managing contractors and service providers


• Monitoring household systems and plant equipment and coordinating repairs where required


• Supporting the overall running and presentation of the property and grounds

The Ideal Couple Will Be

An experienced domestic couple with a proven track record within private households. They will be self-sufficient, highly organised and capable of managing a large property without supervision. Both candidates should be discreet, professional and respectful of the principals' privacy, whilst possessing the confidence to take ownership of the role and make sensible decisions independently. The principals are seeking a long-term couple who can establish and maintain excellent household standards and who are comfortable working within a private family environment. Previous experience in a similar role is essential.

• Flexibility to work during peak occupancy periods, including Christmas and other school holiday periods


• Annual leave to be taken outside of the family's main occupancy periods

Accommodation

Private 1-bedroom Gatekeeper's Cottage provided. Well-behaved pets may be considered, although they must strictly remain within the couple's accommodation and grounds allocated to them and not enter client areas.

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £80,000 – £85,000 gross per annum (may be negotiable depending on experience) 

Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 3 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
